What We Believe

Here's where we stand.

We're non-denominational, which means we don't have a creed handed down from a denomination. What we have is the Bible — and a community trying to take it seriously.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit, infallible and inerrant in whole and in part, and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and human life.

God

We believe God exists eternally as One God in Three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each possessing all the qualities of God, each participating in His eternal nature, and each equally worthy of our worship and praise. God has revealed Himself to us through the Bible and through history.

The Father

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth — that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of people, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

The Son

We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. Fully human, fully God. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, proclaimed the Kingdom of Heaven, and taught us to love one another. He died for our sins, rose bodily for our redemption, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return to judge the living and the dead.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Counselor, sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment — and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lives inside everyone who believes.

Salvation

We believe all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are therefore under God's righteous judgment. Salvation is offered freely to everyone who believes in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ — offered only through the grace and mercy of God.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

— Romans 10:9

Christian Conduct

Those who believe are not merely saved in the abstract. We are saved into the Body of Christ — both universally and locally — and into the lifelong process of discipleship. The first step is baptism. From there, we believe we should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others, marked by ongoing maturity and the joy of the Lord, as faithful stewards of our abilities, time, and possessions — not merely as individuals, but as part of the family of God.

The Church

The church is all people throughout all times and places who have genuine faith in Jesus Christ. Together, we regularly devote ourselves to worship in song, teaching from God's Word, corporate prayer, communion, and encouraging fellowship. We also seek to engage our community and the world with God's truth and God's love — both as a body and as individuals.

Communion

We share the Lord's Supper every Sunday as a commemoration and proclamation that Jesus' sacrifice is our hope until He comes again. Communion is not a place for the perfect. It's a table for the broken who need healing. All of us.

Eternity

We believe all of human history is moving toward one climactic event: the certain return and final revelation of Jesus Christ. At His return, those opposed to God will spend eternity separated from Him. The redeemed will receive eternal rewards and enter into everlasting glory with Christ — unhindered worship, everlasting fellowship, a newly created home. We hold a positive expectation that between now and that Great Day, the Lord will use His people through the power of the Holy Spirit to progressively answer the prayer He taught us: "Your name be holy, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
